Senior Consultant

DISCIPLINE: CONSULTING OPERATIONS
LOCATION: TORONTO

The singular element that determines the ultimate success  –  or failure – of a business is its leadership.

Decisions, commitment, innovation, influence, risk tolerance, culture…all the things that form the algorithms behind a business’ operating system, the system that fundamentally drives a business’ performance, are a direct result of its leadership.

We know this.  We live it.  For more than 15 years, The Refinery has been working with business leaders to enhance their capacity in service of maximizing the performance of their organizations.  We refer to this as “Elevating the World of Work” – or simply ∆WOW. Our work has taken us across the Americas and around the world – and now we are looking to add to our team here in Canada.

The Refinery is a seeking a full-time Senior Consultant in Toronto to add to the strength and diversity of our consulting practice.

Be warned – this is not your typical, everyday consulting gig.

This opportunity is for an individual who brings entrepreneurial drive, has a keen desire to help others learn and grow, and wants to work in a highly collaborative environment.  The successful candidate will have a deep understanding and track-record of connecting, coaching, and elevating others by unlocking their true potential.  This individual also understands the sometimes harsh reality of business.  This is not rainbows and unicorns – it is hard work helping overwhelmed leaders get better at driving business results.  As such, the successful candidate will have experienced time in the corporate trenches and recognize what it takes to develop people within the competitive and chaotic world of day-to-day business.  And, as a result of this diverse and comprehensive background, the successful candidate will have a rich and robust business network within the GTA business community, ready to be accessed for new business opportunities.

In the end, you will be a partner with our – with your – clients, working with them to create a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals, teams, and organizations.  Not a bad way to spend your day.

If this intrigues you, please send us your resume and a covering letter.  And, since being curious is part of our DNA, we would like your covering letter to address some questions:

  • How do you define courage?
  • What does it mean in business to be vulnerable?
  • What is key to shifting our own behaviour and the behaviour of others?
  • What is your definition of leadership?
  • What do these questions have to do with running a high-performing, for-profit business?
  • What would you do to help us Elevate the World of Work in the GTA?

Finally, for those of you who would like a little more of the traditional job posting information…
