Client Success Administrator

About the Title

Client Success Administrator – a brand new role!

About the Opportunity

The Refinery Leadership Partners Inc. has created a brand-new role to expand our amazing Vancouver office team.  The Client Success Administrator will be part Executive Assistant, part Accounting Assistant, part Office Administrator, part Project Assistant, part Shipping/Receiving and part of everything that goes on at The Refinery.  You’ll join the talented Client Success team that is all about doing whatever it takes to make our team and our clients successful.

This position is full-time and is located at The Refinery head office in downtown Vancouver, B.C. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, an open vacation policy, annual performance bonus and a chance to have a direct and tangible positive impact on our business with everything you do.

About You

Organized – your picture is next to this word in the dictionary.  You’ve got to be on top of your stuff and everyone else’s stuff to keep the corporate machine running.

Collaborative – you like to work with people and they like to work with you because you are focused on helping others to succeed, every day, all day.

Courageous – you try new things because you have to and you want to and because if you don’t nobody else will.  You relish success and you learn and grow from mistakes you make.

Entrepreneurial – you relish the chance to take on the blank slate of a new role and figure out what it will take to help your internal and external customers succeed so that you’ll succeed. Everyone wins.

Fun – on any given day you may be testing out a new game, participating in a simulation exercise, creating a piece of art out of modelling clay or playing Catan with the team.  We mix fun with our very serious business!

Professional – for sure we like to have fun and we also play in the big leagues so presenting your appropriately polished, customer-focused self is important.  You have worked in a professional environment where in-person client contact was the norm.  You will work with our CEO and our clients’ CEOs and you will bring your A game.

Smart – we’re not stuck on this but if you have diploma or degree in business admin or a related field that would be a plus but we’d be delighted with a combination of education and your excellent and relevant work history.

Communicator – we don’t expect you to be an award-winning public speaker and author but you should be able to communicate in a manner that others appreciate and understand.

Flexible – this is not an assembly line role.  Read on only if you like it when no two days are the same and you have to adapt to a new situation in a flash.  Some days you’ll set the world on fire and some days you’ll be packing and shipping workshop materials, that’s how we roll.

Must love dogs – Wiley is our corporate dog and participates in all meetings and you have to be OK with that because he’s been here longer than almost any human at The Refinery.

Skilled and Experienced –  The Refinery is a small and mighty team of people with wonderfully diverse and fascinating backgrounds.  We work here because we’ve worked in all kinds of businesses at every level.  You will be able to tell an interesting story of your work/life history and how it will complement our team to help our clients succeed. We don’t have any maximum skill and experience requirements but we do have some minimums:

  • A background in administration or customer service is ideal;
  • You’re an above-average user of MS Office Suite and Outlook and you have had to learn new applications in order to be successful in your work at some point. You are accustomed to planning your day and others using Outlook calendar functionality;
  • Performing basic bookkeeping functions (accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense reporting and maybe even payroll) have factored into your work/school life;
  • You have knowledge of accounting systems; Netsuite and Openair would be perfect.
